Masgutova Neurosensorimotor Reflex Integration (MNRI) is a therapeutic approach that focuses on addressing retained or immature reflexes. Reflexes are automatic movements that develop in utero and play a foundational role in motor and sensory development. When reflexes are not fully integrated, they can affect a child’s coordination, sensory processing, behavior, and learning abilities. MNRI uses sensory stimuli, hands-on techniques, specific movements, exercises, and sensory activities designed to help integrate these reflexes, supporting more efficient brain-body communication. This approach can be used with children experiencing motor delays, cerebral palsy/brain injuries, sensory processing difficulties, ADHD, autism, trauma recovery, learning disabilities, and other developmental challenges. Pediatric occupational therapists trained in the Masgutova Method incorporate it into therapy sessions to improve core stability, fine and gross motor coordination, self-regulation, social engagement, and functional skills. The benefits of MNRI include enhanced body awareness, better posture, improved attention, and increased ease in performing everyday tasks. It is a gentle, individualized intervention that supports holistic development. Overall, the MNRI method is focused on enhancing neuroplasticity and supporting the brain’s natural ability to re-organize and develop new pathways for improved function.

*Please note that this intervention requires advanced training, therefore may only be provided by specific therapists. While all of our therapists can work on reflex integration, only specific therapists are trained in Masgutova Reflex Integration.
